This is a brand new, factory sealed, Variscope Series 824 microscope. The Variscope microscope family of optical instruments is made by one of the largest "private label" optical fabricators in the world. This microscope is designed for professional grade viewing of a wide range of specimens. This microscope is manufactured with a .7x to 4.5x stereo zoom objective made from premium ground optical glass. Used in conjunction with the two sets of included ultra-wide field stereo eyepieces 10x and 20x power, along with a .5x auxiliary objective, you can achieve a zoom magnification range of 3.5x through 90x right out of the box. With the included .5x auxiliary objective, you increase the working distance to 150mm and dramatically increase the field of view so you can see more of the specimen. This is a professional grade boom stand that is designed to be completely stable even when extended to its outer range. The 10 x 9.5 inch base piece alone weighs over 24 pounds and is stable as a rock. This stereo microscope also has ergonomic features to make your microscope viewing as comfortable as possible. The main microscope head swivels 360 degrees for viewing from any angle, and the head itself sits at a comfortable 45 degree incline. The eyepieces sit in a gemel type assembly, allowing for maximum flexibility in adjusting the interpupillary distance. There are dual diopter focusing adjustments, and molded rubber eyecups are provided for your comfort. The focusing and zoom knobs are on both the right and left side of the scope allowing for easy adjustment with either the right or left hand. In addition, the entire microscope head mounts on a height adjustable base, allowing the entire scope head to be adjusted higher or lower to accommodate very large specimens. A plastic dust cover large enough to cover the entire microscope when mounted on the boom is included.
