Product Description
Now you can take close-up shots like you never took before. Opteka proudly presents the next HD10X macro lens. Originally designed for dentists and medical use, the HD10X is now available to the public. Unlike current single element lenses, the HD10X has 4 elements of high definition optical glass that provides unbelievable detail. Cameras fitted with normal lenses do not permit us to move closer than a certain minimum distance from the object being photographed. The Close-Up lens, which is simply mounted in the front of our normal taking lens, permits the taking of close-ups and also makes possible the photography of details which would be quite impossible without using the Close-Up lens. The easy to use solution for getting extra close. These lenses enable you to get much closer than the minimum focus of the standard camera lens - as close as 4 inches from the subject. Ideal for cataloging small items and focusing on details.

I was hesitant, with only one review on this product when i bought it, but hey, [...] Why not huh? if it sucks i could always keep it in my camping gear for starting fires. I got it in, it comes with a cheap little pleather pouch and lenscaps for the font and back. Which is all it needs really. I have a Nikon D40 with a 18-55mm kit lens plus a 55-200vr telephoto lens. See the pics i have submitted for this product in the pics section, the pics speak for themselves on how well this works. It does not interfere with autofocus but you have to be real close. The 18-55 lens worked great with this, but i have achieved better than 1:1 magnification with the 55-200mm lens. At 150-200mm the focus depth is so razor thin that it is hard to make out much . dropping down to 135-105mm seems to work best. It installs just like a normal filter by... They don't mention that it requires a 52 to 55mm adapter, but the adapter does come with it. Screw it on your Nikon 18-55, keep the VR on if you have it or use a tripod and it will work. Switch to manual focus and have some fun with bugs, flowers, coins and other objects. Try shooting the back of your hand and see a forested plain. The depth of field is poor as only the center or flat part of your subject will be in sharp focus. Shipping was fast. Playing with this will make you start saving for a REAL macro lens. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: ![]() Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Opteka 52mm 10x HD Professional Macro Lens for Nikon D60, D40, D40X, & D50 Digital SLR Cameras (Electronics) I bought this lens after reading a review on Amazon, and as an alternative to buying a much more expensive macro lens. I've found the results to be very impressive, much better than anything I've had before. Though I cannot compare the macros I'm now taking with those of a Nikkor lens that would mount directly onto the camera, I am quite satisfied. |
